Our Story
In 1984, the first gatherings took place in Fontainebleau within families. Starting in September 1985, regular worship services brought together around ten families.
The church was officially established as a religious association in 1988. It acquired a building in Veneux-les-Sablons, which was renovated by its members and inaugurated in 1991.
As the church grew, an annex was added to accommodate worship services starting in 2005.
Beginning in 2015, the church supported and encouraged the planting of a new church in Donnemarie-Dontilly.
In June 2024, we began holding our first worship services in our new building in Varennes-sur-Seine.

Growing to Spread the Gospel
For several years now, our church has been experiencing encouraging growth. With the steady increase in Sunday worship attendance, we had to organize two simultaneous services each Sunday morning for several years—one for adults and one for children.
This momentum led us to move into a new building, better suited to our mission.
But the journey doesn’t stop here!
Our vision is clear: to keep growing in order to strengthen the impact of the Gospel in a region of nearly 150,000 people. To do this, we are entering a new phase of construction.
Our goal today is to create spaces dedicated to children’s Bible teaching and pastoral work, so we can better welcome, disciple, and support everyone in their faith journey.
We believe God uses the Church to showcase His work: transforming lives. And we believe that together, we can be part of what God is doing.
The Reason for a New Building
Our present premises were inaugurated in 1991 and extended in 2005, giving us a room for our worship services that can accommodate 80 people, together with a room for the children’s service and other rooms for Bible classes. All our space is used up, with some of the people attending the Sunday service having to sit in the entrance hall. The recent sanitary crisis made the situation even more difficult.
Our greatest desire is for as many people as possible in our area to discover the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We therefore need more spacious premises in order to continue growing.

Our Project
A Place at the Heart of the Mission
Our new building is ideally located—easily accessible from major roads—allowing us to extend our witness throughout the region: Moret-Loing-et-Orvanne, Montereau, Fontainebleau, Nemours, and even into the northern part of Yonne.
But beyond just having a building, we dream of a space that serves our mission.
We want our church to be:
-
A place full of life – welcoming, warm, and open to the city.
-
A tool – to serve both the Gospel and our neighbors.
-
A resource hub – for churches and believers across the southern Seine-et-Marne area.

The Right Place
For the last 13 years we have been looking for new premises that would meet our needs in terms of space, visibility and versatility. We think we have found the right place! It’s a building of 1200 m2, surrounded by 4300 m2 of land, which would be suitable for both our services and other activities for all generations.
The main hall and amenities can already be used as they are.
The next stage would be to create new spaces for children’s and small group activities and a heating system.

There’s Still Work to Be Done!
For 13 Years, We Searched for a New Space—One That Truly Met Our Needs:
A larger, more visible, and more versatile place. Today, we’ve found it. Praise the Lord!
We are now settled into a 12,900 sq. ft. (1,200 m²) building on a 46,000 sq. ft. (4,300 m²) property, where we’ve been holding our worship services since June 2024. It’s more than just a building—it’s become a real gathering place for all generations.
Phase one of the construction is now complete, including:
-
The main worship hall,
-
A multipurpose space,
-
And a dedicated room for children.
However, there’s still more work to be done to fully use the space and meet the church’s ongoing needs.
We need to create additional spaces for:
-
Children’s ministry – four more classrooms,
-
Pastoral work,
-
Storage.
We also need to complete work on thermal insulation and air ventilation systems to ensure the building functions properly in the long term.

Description of Expense Items
The initial necessary work to move into the building has been completed: partitioning, initial fittings, compliance upgrades, including the installation of a heating system.
We are now entering a new phase.
We estimate that €120,000 is needed to complete the second phase of the work in the remaining 4,300 sq. ft. (400 m²) that still needs to be developed.
Estimated Resources
We hope that the majority of the required funds will come from the generous donations of church members and friends.
This fundraising effort will cover the remaining cost of the construction, and if donations exceed the need, we will, as much as possible, use the surplus to reduce the remaining mortgage.
We estimate that €120,000 in donations, from both internal and external sources, will be needed to finance the work required to fully utilize the building.
The progress bar (shown on the side) will be updated as donations come in.
